Our dedicated teachers will lovingly nurture your baby and ensure they are safe and secure as we encourage their development. We will help them:

  • Begin to identify and use their senses through sensory play
  • Talk, sing, and incorporate sound recognition throughout the day
  • Encourage expression through movement
  • Strengthen muscles in their body by learning to sit up, crawl, and pull up
  • Provide a fun environment that encourages them to explore
  • Follow a curriculum that exposes them to words and learning objectives as they grow

TODDLER 1

THE SPROUTS CLASSROOM

Your little one is officially a toddler, and a big change is on the way. Children this age start to understand new concepts like opposites, identifying body parts, and basic object and color recognition. Our amazing teachers will support your child as they learn and develop:

  • Body coordination
  • Emotional regulation
  • Connecting with others and being friendly
  • Following direction
  • Strengthening memory through reciting songs
  • Increased structured learning time

Did you know by 18 months, your little one can understand 1-step questions? At 24 months, they can understand 2-step questions such as “Go to the kitchen and get your cup.” This is an exciting age as your baby is ready to explore their independence. We encourage your child by using repetition to help them continue to make cognitive connections to the world around them. We continue to develop:

  • Fine gross motor movement
  • Introducing potty training
  • Connecting words to people, places, and things
  • Understanding emotions through encouragement and redirecting
  • Foundational learning objectives such as identifying numbers and letters through simple exposure techniques

TODDLER 3

Our potty-trained 2-3 year olds feel like big kids. However, we know they are still your baby. Our loving teachers continue to encourage their growth by helping to deepen their understanding of life and mastering basic life skills. You can expect your child’s vocabulary to develop rapidly, as well as their ability to communicate about the past, present, and future. They will learn:

  • How to hold a pencil and begin writing
  • Emotional empathy and caring for others
  • Expressing their creativity and understanding of who they are
  • Completing routines and knowing the importance of it
  • Letter, number, and name recognition

TODDLER 4

THE FLOWERS CLASSROOM

Congratulations, your child is officially in preschool. I am sure you’ve noticed your child is more expressive, may display more emotions, and has friends. Our dedicated teachers are excited to partner with you as we get your little one ready for kindergarten. They will learn:

  • Storytelling and imaginative play
  • Dressing themselves and other self-care routines
  • Structured and focused learning time
  • Exposure to reading techniques
  • Daily homework habits
  • Learning numbers 1-50
  • Basic addition and subtraction
  • Alphabet A-Z
  • Name writing

KINDERGARTEN PREP 

Ages 4 years - 5 years

VPK

Voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK) is Florida’s free pre-kindergarten program for 4-year-olds residing in Florida. VPK gives children a jump start by preparing them for school and enhancing their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. Children who complete a quality VPK program arrive at kindergarten better prepared than those who do not attend a pre-kindergarten program.

THE EXPLORERS CLASSROOM

Ages 4 years – 5 years

Our kindergarten preparatory class is designed specifically for our 4- 5-year-olds who are ready to take on an advanced curriculum. This classroom is our last step before graduating from The Elsie Academy’s preschool. We work more intently with your child to make sure they have the skills and resources to move forward. You can expect:

  • Learning numbers 1-50
  • Basic addition and subtraction
  • Alphabet A-Z
  • Basic Reading Techniques
  • Basic Writing Techniques
  • Storytelling
  • Name writing
  • Enhanced art and dramatics skills
  • Confidence and character work
  • Community Connection through service activities
  • STEM
  • Daily homework habits
