Our approach is Reggio-inspired and academically structured, designed to develop both mastery and meaningful thinking.

Parents often ask whether we are play-based or curriculum-based. The answer is that we are intentionally hybrid.

The first portion of each day is highly structured. This ensures that core academics — reading, writing, mathematics, and foundational skills — take place during the hours when students are most focused and receptive. During this time, teachers lead direct instruction, guided practice, and mastery-based learning to build strong academic foundations.

As the day progresses, learning becomes more student-led and exploratory. In this phase, our Reggio-inspired approach allows students to engage in hands-on projects, collaborative learning, open-ended exploration, and practical life experiences. Elementary Expansion & Future Vision
The Elsie Academy now serves students from infancy through elementary, with continued expansion through 5th grade. Our elementary program is designed to provide academic rigor, strong character formation, leadership development, and a structured environment where students build confidence and mastery.

As we grow, we are developing toward a long-term vision of a Christian charter model that maintains our commitment to faith, family partnership, academic excellence, and life skill development while expanding access to more families seeking this level of intentional education.
